Late Spring Bank Holiday - change of dateIMPORTANT NOTE: This year, the late UK Spring Bank Holiday has been moved from Monday 28th May (as incorrectly shown in the 2011/12 Acad-Pad and 2012 Dodo Pad diary and Wall Pad) to June 4th, the Monday of the following week. An extra day’s public holiday has been declared to celebrate the Queen’s Golden Jubilee on Tuesday 5th June. To explain… The late Spring Bank Holiday was moved this year by the government, in order to celebrate the Queen’s Golden Jubilee, to w/c 4th June and to include two days. There has been much recent publicity about this... Our diary artwork is largely hand created and takes many months to produce. It is finalised over 18 months in advance of the year start (for the calendar year Dodo Pad) and much of it is also used in the preceding year’s mid year Acad-Pad – in this instance both were printed prior to the government advising the change of date. So, in order to compensate for the change, we have included a big clear sticker in ‘red alert’ colours in every 2012 Dodo Pad diary on the very first page. This was the only practical position in which it could be placed as the blocks of diary pages were printed and stored ready for covers and binding. It is a peelable sticker to be inserted over the correct dates. In the case of the 2011/12 Acad-Pad we were too late to do this at production stage as it was already completed and in containers en route to us when the change was announced. We therefore hand applied the sticker on all Acad-Pad covers as stock was/is dispatched from our warehouse. If it is the case that your copy is missing the sticker, then I apologise sincerely but we did absolutely everything we could (at considerable extra expense to ourselves) in order to let our customers know. We are happy to send you one in the post and, if you would like us to do so, please email us via our Contact Us form. Again, our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. Rebecca Jay
